Abstract

810 / 5000     Resultados de traducción Cross-cultural psychiatry is dedicated to the study of the influence of culture on different mental disorders. Culture, understood as the model of beliefs, feelings and knowledge that guide the behavior of each individual, differs both in the ways of defining health and disease and in the way of communicating between the doctor and the patient. Some cultures facilitate the expression of complaints, while others may inhibit the communication of inner feelings. All this determines that the symptomatic expressions of psychiatric disorders may vary depending on the culture of the patient, as well as the diagnosis, and the common symptoms in different societies may receive different diagnostic labels, cross-cultural psychiatry; mental disorders
