Resumen

Las diferencias individuales entre los niños, ya perceptibles desde el nacimiento, vienen siendo reconocidas desde tiempos remotos; pero su importancia en el desarrollo infantil, durante el que actúan sutilmente entrelazadas con el ambiente, s6lo ha empezado a ser reconocida a partir de los estudios prospectivos sobre el temperamento que Chess y Thomas comenzaron en los años cincuenta
