Resumen

La psicoterapia grupal en niños y adolescentes ha recibido menor atención que la referida a los adultos; de hecho, hasta la última década, la mayoría de los Psiquiatras y Psicólogos infantiles no la consideraban útil. En el presente trabajo se realiza una revisión de la bibliografía sobre el tema y se señalan las deficiencias que dificultan el trabajo investigador en este campo, al tiempo que se presenta la experiencia de los autores en Psicoterapia Grupal con niños y adolescentes. Se describen dos experiencias diferentes en un total de 20 grupos de psicoterapia, en los que se analizan aspectos cuantitativos: número de pacientes, sexo, edad, tipo de patología, etc. y aspectos cualitativos: técnica, inclusión de figuras parentales, evolución a corto y medio plazo y evaluación de la experiencia grupal por parte de los pacientes. Por último se revisan las limitaciones y las dificultades actuales para el uso de técnicas psicoterapéuticas de grupo con niños y adolescentes, tales como la formación, el interés Artículos originales Psicoterapias grupales en la infancia y la adolescencia Child and adolescents group psichotherapy el número y las características de los profesionales; las diferentes técnicas utilizadas, los espacios específicos, materiales y tiempo de dedicación lo que hace que en el momento actual se observe, en nuestro ámbito, una tendencia a su menor utilización salvo cuando existen la voluntad y la actitud decidida de los profesionales que las proponen.
